Fairfield City Council – The council learned that the town has been awarded a $626,000 grant from the Washington State Transportation Improvement Board to continue the Main Street rehabilitation project as far as McNeil Avenue. The project will be designed in 2013 and construction is planned for 2014. The city’s share of the project, which is also expected to fix water runoff problems, will be $32,950. The council voted to award a bid to Adams Electric to update the lighting in the town hall, post office, town shop and community center. There was a public hearing on the 2013 budget, which received no public comment.
