From staff reports
A child was seriously injured Christmas Eve during a sledding accident at Manito Park. The 4-year-old girl, according to Spokane Fire assistant fire chief Brian Schaeffer, hit a tree at full velocity around 3:45 p.m. Medics arrived and found her unconscious at first, but she woke up, said Schaeffer. She was taken to Sacred Heart Medical Center for her injuries. She was not wearing a helmet, Schaeffer said.
