WOLD,
Leland Arno
“Bud”
4/17/1925 - 2/04/2012
(Age 86)
Bud Wold of Spokane, Washington, left this world to join the Lord on February 4, 2012.
He was born and raised in Spokane Valley, Washington.
Bud met his future wife, Betty Baggarley, in 4th grade.
They were married over 62 years and raised four children.
Bud joined the Air Force during World War II and trained to be a navigator.
He became a professional motion picture projectionist and worked throughout Spokane.
Later he also obtained his real estate broker’s license.
Bud’s true passion was selling cars for dealerships in Spokane.
He truly loved people and enjoyed helping them in any way he could.
He had a clientele of returning customers from all over Washington, Idaho and other states.
He considered McCollum Ford his home for over 35 years and was the top salesman of the month several times.
He was awarded the Distinguished Achievement Award from Ford Motor Company.
Bud was one of only two salespeople in the entire West Coast area to win an all expense paid, two-week trip for he and his wife in Hawaii.
He returned to work the day after his retirement party because he simply loved what he did and the people he met.
Bud loved his family and especially loved to play with his kids.
He built a three-story playhouse out of junk lumber.
He enjoyed having the neighborhood kids come to play.
To this day, total strangers will stop and back up to get a better look at the playhouse he built.
Bud also purchased a small gas-powered Model-T car and taught his kids to drive at a very young age.
He had two rules: “You can do anything if you go fast enough,” and “Back up until you hear glass or somebody moan.”
Many hours were spent teaching his kids to maneuver the mini-car.
With patience and knowledge, he could teach anyone how to park a car.
Bud raced hydro midget boats as a young man.
He enjoyed taking his family camping, boating, and taught his kids and grandkids the love of fishing.
Bud is survived by his wife Betty; son Ron Wold; daughters Vicki Howard (son-in-law Monty), Kathy Endicott (late son-in-law Lee Endicott), Donna Caesar (son-in-law Gerry); grandsons Michael Howard, Jeremy Endicott, Bryan Caesar; granddaughters Michelle Elperin (Howard) (husband Alex), Monica Howard, Jessica Endicott, Karen Caesar; and great-granddaughter Abigail Elperin.
Bud was preceded in death by his parents Arno and Vivian Wold, sister June Everett, and son-in-law Lee Endicott.
Special thanks to North Central Care Center for the love and tender care they gave Bud.
