On the evening of February 10, 2012 Dick put on his favorite yellow outfit, strapped on his skis and made his final run.
Dick was born November 30, 1945 in Great Falls, MT to Dr. Earl and Marianne Hall.
Along with brother Ron, sister Ann and his twin brother Dave, the family enjoyed many adventures traveling every summer to medical conferences across the country.
Annual winter vacations were spent at Sun Valley.
Dick started skiing at age four wearing shoes inside his ski boots, because there were none small enough.
His passion for skiing endured his entire life.
Dick graduated from Great Falls High in 1964 and Eastern Washington University in 1969.
Dick was an avid Eagle football fan, even attending the NCAA Div.I National Championship game in Frisco, TX in January of 2011.
A beloved husband and devoted dad, Dick was happiest spending time with his family.
He is survived by his bride of 37 years, Claudia.
His children, whom he adored.
Matt of Spokane, Laurie Hanna and grandson Zach of Simi Valley, CA and Chris and children, Gabbie and Tanner of Sherwood, OR.
Also surviving are godsons Chris and Nate and their parents Christal and Tim Raver.
Siblings Ron Hall of Great Falls, Ann (Gary) Groshelle of Billings and Dave (Susie) of Great Falls.
He will be greatly missed by his dear friends in the Saturday morning Coffee Gang and by his close neighborhood friends, spanning over 30 years.
A lifelong sports enthusiast, he enjoyed coaching baseball for son Chris and soccer for son Matt and godson Chris.
Dick enjoyed nothing more than a great round of golf.
Never one to succumb to peer pressure, Dick was a lifetime Viking Fan in a house full of Packers!
A celebration of Dick’s life will take place in MT at his beloved Showdown Ski area on Sunday, February 19th.
Additionally, a Spokane celebration is planned for early spring.
