(Age 80)

Passed away February 16, 2012 in Spokane after a brief illness with cancer.

He was born in Potlach, Idaho, January 5, 1932 and moved with the family to Spokane in 1944.

He attended St. Aloysius Grade School and graduated from Gonzaga High School.

He was a member of St. Charles Catholic Church.

He is survived by his companion of over 20 years, Betty Greer, son, Robert J. Schmidt, Spokane, WA, daughter Kathleen and husband Behnam Massoomi, Portland, OR, a sister; Teresa Underwood and husband Al, Coeur d’Alene, ID and a brother; Gary A. Schmidt and wife, Karen E., Spokane, WA.

He also leaves four grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Vincent was preceded in death by his wife, Mary (Maggie) Schmidt in 1989, his parents; John H. and Leah R. Schmidt, a brother Jack N. Schmidt and his wife, Dallas of Spirit Lake, ID.

Vincent was a member of Teamsters Local #690 and spent most of his working life in the trucking industry and retired from P.I.E.

Freight after more than 25 years of service.

Services will be held at Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home, 2203 N. Division on Saturday, February 25, 2012 at 10:00AM.
