Support West Valley School District levy

As a parent and citizen in the West Valley community, I am writing to encourage all voters to get to the polls and vote “yes” for our maintenance and technology replacement levy. The students in the West Valley School District are the future citizens, lawmakers, employees and leaders of this very community. It is imperative that we keep the level of education for these kids competitive with their peers.

I just want to remind the taxpayers that this is a replacement levy and not an increase in taxes. It is critical to get these funds in the places that need attention in these hard economic times. These funds will go toward the upkeep of existing buildings so that we can take care of what we already have. They also are applied to things that make West Valley such a great school district, like the Outdoor Learning Center, City School, Spokane Valley High School, Contract Based Education and River City Learning Academy.

West Valley is also unique in the fact that many of our staff take our students’ education personally and have seen these kids grow up through the years. I believe this gives our community a close-knit feel and we all understand that we want our kids to have a great learning experience while in school and a great future to look forward to.

I am so thankful to be raising my two boys in such a caring community. Please join me and vote yes!
