BERG, Henry “Lance”
(Age 67)

Born on July 12, 1944, in Spokane, WA, to Alfred and Ida Berg.

He passed away on January 17, 2012.

Lance was born and raised in Spokane and graduated from Shadle Park High School in 1962, where he played multiple sports including baseball, football, and boxing.

Lance met his wife of 38 years, Anna Berg, in 1970 and had two sons with her, Eric and Jeremy.

Lance also had two daughters, Jodi and Kirsten, who now live in the Seattle area.


Lance worked as a pressman in the Spokane area for many years.

He also helped his wife, Anna, open up a successful housekeeping business that continues to this day.

He was a skilled musician and formed many bands throughout the 60’s and 70’s.

He was a lead singer, a great guitar player, and could play drums and harmonica.

His latest band was called “Bruised Orange”.

They were a John Prine Tribute band, and he continued to practice with them up until about a month before his death.

Music was Lance’s heart and soul.

He taught his younger son, Jeremy, to play guitar and would spend hours belting out songs with his twelve string guitar while the family and friends sang along.
Lance was also an avid golfer.

He coached his son Eric’s soccer teams for years and always attended all of his sons’ sports games.

He loved crosswords, cooking, reading, and going to Deer Lake with friends.

He will be remembered for his kindness, strength, and loving nature.

Lance is survived by his wife, Anna; his children, Jodi, Kirsten (Todd), Eric (Jenny), and Jeremy (Wendy); and his grandchildren, Alyssa, Christian, Allison, Tommy, Tyler, Hannah, Andrew, Blake, Chelsea, Kaitlin, Rachel, David, Jordan, Katy, and Michael.
