Clint Watkins passed away February 29, 2012 peacefully at the age of 80.


He was born in Spokane, July 15, 1931 to Martha and Phayne Watkins.
For over thirty years he worked as a Press Photo- grapher for the Spokane Daily Chronicle, and later for the Spokesman-Review.


His many photos of the area, its people and news stories of the region brought many letters of appreciation from newspaper readers.
Clint was an avid hiker and cross country skier, a tennis player and a softball and baseball coach.

He possessed a keen intellect with an eclectic taste in quality books and music.

He was an English as a second language tutor and served as president of the Spokane Press Club.

He worked hard to preserve th forests of the Pacific Northwest by being an active board member of the Sierra Club and Inland Empire Public Lands Council.


He is survived by his loving wife, Valerie with whom he shared 57 years of marriage, his two sons, Mark (Marina) and Doug (Lori); three grandsons and one granddaughter, and sister, Janet Chapel.
He was loved and respected by so many and is greatly missed.


A celebration of his life will be held on July 15th, 2012 at the Commons at Mukogawa Fort Wright at 1:00 p.m.
