Obituary: Monigold, Eva Jeanette

Jean

Our beautiful sweet Mother, Sister, Grandmother, Aunt, Friend, Eva Jeannette “Jean” Monigold (Dickinson) was welcomed into Heaven and embraced by our Lord on July 7, 2012 following a short battle with breast cancer.


Jean was born January 21, 1937 in Spokane, WA to Joe and Eva Dickinson and grew up in Reardan, WA.

She was one of 11 children.

She graduated from Reardan High School in 1956.

She married Bob Frase on November 10, 1958 and had three children, they divorced and she then married Elmer Monigold on August 5, 1972.

He had three children previous, so they were raising six together, then Elmer and Jean had two more whippersnappers to add to the bunch.

Jean dedicated her time to the kids as a homemaker and mom, cooking and cleaning up after all us hooligans, playing softball with us and playing referee to all the fights and arguments amongst us kids.

We enjoyed many trips together as a family and our get-togethers with the Nester Pister Gang, Elmer played music with them for many years.

They attended Dishman Baptist church for many years and she had a very strong love of the Lord.

Over the last few years she attended Starr Rd.

Baptist Church where she had many friends.

She enjoyed bowling for many many years and made many lifelong friends through her bowling.

She also loved dancing and singing karaoke, and playing pool and darts at the Valley Eagles amongst her many wonderful friends these last couple of years.


Jean is preceded in death by her husband, Elmer V. Monigold, daughter, Cathy Holzer, great-granddaughter Brooke Hankel, parents Eva and Joe Dickinson and brothers Rich Dickinson, baby Ray and baby William.

She is survived by sons, Jerry Frase, Bob Frase and wife Julie, Kevin Holzer, Bret Monigold and wife Kim, Chet Monigold and wife Cindy, Colette Anthony and husband David, T.J. Hartman and husband John, and Amanda Testa and husband Justin.

Brothers Joe Junior Dickinson, George Dickinson, Carl Dickinson; Sisters Ellen Fell, Joan Carrier, Doris Dormaier, and Deanna Remmers.

Jean also left behind 26 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.


A viewing will be held on Thursday July 12, 2012 from 4-8pm at the Thornhill Valley Chapel located at 1400 S. Pines Rd., Spokane Valley, WA 99206.

A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, July 13, 2012 at 2:00pm at the Dishman Baptist Church located at 315 N. Argonne Rd., Spokane Valley, WA 99212.
