KAPFER, Joan Eva

Kernersville - Joan Eva Nyreen Kapfer, was born August 13, 1925 and died July 21, 2012 after a long illness.
Funeral Services to celebrate her life will be held 6:00PM Tuesday July 24, 2012 at Fountain of Life Lutheran Church with Rev.

Joseph Dzugan officiating.

Interment will be at Eastlawn Gardens of Memory.
A native of Portal, North Dakota, Joan was the daughter of the late Gladys Wood and Morris Nyreen.

She was a long time member of Fountain of Life Lutheran Church.
In addition to her parents, she also was preceded in death by her husband and best friend William A.

“Bill” Kapfer and her brother Lowell Nyreen.
Survivors include her daughter Laurie Katan and Brian of Wichita, Kansas; sons Doug Kapfer and Jo of Winston-Salem, and Greg Kapfer and Laurie of McLean, Virginia; grandchildren Katie Kapfer Litton and Daniel, Steve Kapfer, Chelsea Katan, Will Kapfer, and Michael Katan; great-grandchildren Sarah and Kristopher Litton; sister Lois Scofield of Spokane, Washington; brothers Austin Nyreen and Nancy of Rainier, Washington, and Mick Nyreen and Gail of Renton, Washington; she also had numerous nieces, nephews, and friends whom she remembered fondly.
The family will visit with friends immediately following the service at the church on Tuesday evening.
