Lorena “Babe”
Passed away on May 10, 2012 with her family by her side.
She was born May 30, 1928 in Spokane to Edward & Opal Wimberley.
She graduated from North Central High School in 1946.
In 1961, she married Martin Burns.
They raised three children in the Linwood area of north Spokane.
Babe was a wonderful mother and homemaker and worked outside the home for many years for an accounting firm.
After retirement, Babe and Marty spent many years relaxing at the lake.
In January of 2011, they celebrated their Golden Anniversary.
She is survived by daughters Lori (Tom) Houck, Michele (Walt) Clemons, and son Brad (Melynda) Burns all of Spokane.
She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
She was blessed with twelve grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Marty, brother Buford Wimberley, and sisters Lois Alletta Wimberley and Nita Stanford.
Babe loved her family time and enjoyed making gifts for all the kids.
She was loving and attentive as she cared for Marty in his last few years until his death last August.
Their mutual love was very special.
Her heart was broken when he passed.
We know she is overjoyed to be with him again.
A celebration of Babe’s life will be held on Saturday, June 2nd at 2:00 at Hamblen Park Presbyterian Church at 4102 S. Crestline St.
