Obituary: Marsden, Leslie Albert


MARSDEN, Leslie Albert

Died of a heart attack May 6, 2012 in the Philippines.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Marion Williams Marsden; his parents William Henry Marsden and Emily Marie Holley Marsden; and six brothers and sisters, Etta, David, Violet, Ethel, Lloyd and Tom.

Leslie was born June 27, 1918 near Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada.
His family moved to the U.S. when Leslie was five years old.

He graduated from Lewis & Clark High School in Spokane, WA.

In WWII, Leslie served in #330 Signal Wing, attached to the Army Air Corps.

He was a radio operator in the Burma jungle for 2 1/2 years.
Leslie retired as a Captain in the Spokane Fire Department.
Leslie is survived by his second wife of 22 years, Martha Krehbiel Marsden; stepchildren, Alan and wife Joan, Adam, Kristina, six grand- children, Will, Tyler Greg, Alan, Melia, Marie and many nieces and nephews.
Leslie’s memorial service was held May 25, 2012 at the Risen Savior Lutheran Church, Green Valley, Arizona.
