GMA host faces new medical challenge

Robin Roberts is facing a new medical challenge that will require her to start chemotherapy and get a bone marrow transplant.
The “Good Morning America” anchor announced on the ABC show Monday morning that she has been diagnosed with myelodysplastic syndrome, a blood and bone marrow disease once known as preleukemia.
She says she will undergo chemo and a bone marrow transplant this year as “pretreatment” for the disease, which she says she has known about for several weeks. She says her sister is a great match for her. While she says she’ll miss a day here and there, she’ll remain on the air.
Roberts battled breast cancer five years ago.
Arquette has bar mitzvah in Israel
David Arquette got more than he bargained for during his first trip to Israel.
The “Scream” star came to shoot a segment for his travel show and ended up having a bar mitzvah ceremony, too.
The 40-year-old Arquette completed the Jewish rite of passage Monday in Jerusalem at the Western Wall, the holiest place for Jews to pray.
While their father became a Muslim, their mother was born Jewish, making the children Jewish under religious law.
Jewish boys typically celebrate their bar mitzvah at 13, the age when they are obligated to perform Jewish commandments.
While filming an episode in Jerusalem of his “Mile High” show, which airs on the Travel Channel, Arquette attended a ceremony and was then asked whether he would like to have one as well.
Dressed in an all-white outfit, Arquette read his first Torah portion ever and placed phylacteries on his head and tattooed arm in front of the Western Wall, the lone retaining wall left from the second Jewish Temple compound.
Deena was dancin’ in the streets
“Jersey Shore” cast member Deena Cortese was arrested for disorderly conduct on Sunday afternoon in Seaside Heights, N.J.
A police detective said Cortese, 25, and other cast members were in a Mexican restaurant before Cortese went into the roadway and began dancing and impeding traffic.
The detective said an officer saw Cortese and said she appeared to be intoxicated. She was taken to police headquarters, processed and released to her mother.
