Was born on April 12, 1910 in Tekoa, Washington to Aloysius Koch and Verna Walker Koch.
She passed away on June 9, 2012 in Spokane.
She was 102 years old.
She graduated in 1927 from Holy Names Academy.
She married Evin J. Mayer in 1934 and has lived in Spokane since then.
She had six children: Frances Mahar of Wenatchee WA, Joseph (Joyce) Mayer of Uniontown WA, Robert Mayer of Vancouver WA, Linda Mayer of Liberty Lake WA, John (Julie) Mayer of Spokane and James Mayer.
She enjoyed sharing square dancing, playing bridge and golf with her husband, Ervin.
She also enjoyed going out for dinner and for rides with her children.
She loved singing as well as cooking for her family.
She worked for Crystal Laundry and then 26 years for Pennell Fur Farm as their bookkeeper.
She was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Roman Catholic Church for 74 years.
Lucile was preceded in death by her husband, Ervin and her son, James; brother, James Koch and sister, Sr. Lavinia.
She is survived by five children; 21 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.
The family would like to thank the staff of Willow Grove for all the care and friendship shown to Lucile and the family through the years.
Visitation will be Wednesday, June 13, from 2:00 to 7:00 p.m. with a Vigil Service to begin at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, June 14, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 4420 N. Jefferson.
Interment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery.
