Gregoire to be a grandma
OLYMPIA – Gov. Chris Gregoire is going to be a grandmother.
Gregoire said Thursday that her daughter, Courtney, is expecting a baby girl on Nov. 2. It’s Gregoire’s first grandchild. Courtney Gregoire, 32, and her husband, Scott Lindsay, married at the governor’s mansion in 2008.
They recently moved back to the state from Washington, D.C., so that Courtney Gregoire could take a job at Microsoft. She previously had been deputy chief of staff for the U.S. Department of Commerce.
Gov. Gregoire said she was with her daughter Thursday for the ultrasound where they learned the gender of the baby.
She said she and her husband, Mike, are “ecstatic.”
Gov. Gregoire has another daughter, 27-year-old Michelle, who is currently a law student at the University of Washington.
