Soon after graduation he married his high school sweetheart Patricia Piland and they began their life and loving 56 year marriage together.

After retiring they moved to Granite Falls, WA where he was a fire commissioner and very active in the Lions Club.
They moved to Williams Lake outside Cheney, WA in 2005 where he enjoyed fishing and life in a small lakeside community.

Wayne was an exceptional son, husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin and friend to all of us.
He took great joy in helping his friends and family, and sometimes perfect strangers.
He enjoyed a lifetime of outdoor activities like camping, fishing, boating, hunting and traveling with friends and family.
Wayne will be greatly missed and will always be remembered with love and admiration.
A celebration of his life will be held later this summer.
Happy fishing Wayne, and save us all a good spot.
