FLETCHER, Jennie

Passed away February 27, 2012 at Spokane, WA.
A longtime resident of Tekoa, WA.
She was born Jennie McKinley on January 21, 1930 at Ferndale, WA to Glen and Lenna Fern (Hawthorne) McKinley.
Jennie was raised and
attended schools at Dayton, WA and graduated from Pasco High School in 1948.
Jennie married Gerald Fletcher on August 10, 1947 in Dayton, and the couple lived in the Dayton and Tekoa areas before settling in Tekoa, WA in 1962.
In Tekoa, Jennie was a homemaker, but worked for several years as a bookkeeper at the Tekoa Care Center, at Seed’s Inc., a clerk at Gossett’s Variety and at Tekoa Fertilizer & Chemical Company.
She retired during the mid - 1990’s.
Her hobbies included golfing, playing card games (Bridge & Pinochle) fishing, camping, traveling in the family motorhome, and her flower gardens.
Jennie was a loving mother, enjoyed cooking, and especially spending time with her grandchildren.
She had a great sense of humor.
She was a member of the Tekoa Community Church, the Tekoa Bridge Club, and the Tekoa Golf and Country Club.
Jennie was a former Campfire Girls Leader and former treasurer for the United Church of Tekoa.
Survivors include her husband of 64 years, Gerald at the Tekoa home; two sons, Rod and his wife Sammie of Spokane Valley, WA, Steve Fletcher and his wife Erin of Newman Lake, WA, daughter Becky Twiss and her husband Steve of Bremerton, WA; grandchildren Aaron Fletcher of Spokane, Eric Fletcher of Fife, WA, Jenny Kelly of Bremerton, WA, Liz Bayliss of Bremerton, Kirsten Twiss of Airway Heights, Heather Monahan of Post Falls, ID, and Doug Robinson of Moscow, ID: and 11 Great Grandchildren, Alec, Kendal, Caitlyn, Peyton, Abigail, Haylee, Madison, Molly, Daniel, Rachael, and Ryan; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Douglas McKinley and sister Marilyn Ashley.
A memorial service will be held Friday, March 2, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at the Tekoa Community Church in Tekoa.
Pastor Hal Whitman will officiate at the service.
