Cable to air another Palin reality show

From Wire Reports

Bristol Palin’s home life in Alaska is the subject of a reality series starring the daughter of former vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin.

Lifetime says it will air 10 episodes of “Bristol Palin: Life’s a Tripp” later this year. The series will explore the pressures of raising her toddler son, Tripp, as she maintains her close relationship with the larger Palin clan, the network said.

The former first daughter of Alaska, Palin became one of the nation’s most prominent single mothers after the 2008 birth of Tripp. Last summer, a reality series built around her was announced by the Bio Channel but never aired. In 2010, Palin was a competitor on ABC’s “Dancing with the Stars.”

Last June she published a best-selling memoir.

Bomb squad called to Limbaugh house

A suspicious package sent to Rush Limbaugh’s South Florida home Thursday was not dangerous or hazardous, authorities said.

Instead, police said the item turned out to be an electronic plaque sent by a listener of the radio talk show host’s program as a “business opportunity” for him. It concerned the assassination of President Abraham Lincoln.

When the package was screened by an X-ray device, Limbaugh staff members saw what appeared to be wires and called police. The Palm Beach Post reported that a sheriff’s office bomb squad went to the home to investigate the package. The sender apologized when investigators contacted him.

Helm’s court case half past dead

A New York court said musician Levon Helm long ago signed away rights that let an advertising agency use the song “The Weight” in a cellphone commercial.

The Band’s former drummer and singer sued ad agency BBDO Worldwide Inc. in 2004. An appeals court ruled against him Thursday.

Helm sued after the 1968 classic cropped up in an ad for what was then Cingular Wireless. He said he didn’t OK that use.

But the appeals court said the recording contract surrounding the song gave a record label permission to license it to the agency.
