Obituary: Boyce, Cecil E.

BOYCE,
Cecil E.

Beloved husband and father, went to be with our Lord in Sun City, AZ on February 25, 2012.

He fought cancer for many years and with the care of Dr. Steven Anthony and his staff at Evergreen Oncology, Spokane, he was able to maintain a longer and active life style until his death.

He passed so peacefully.

Family had been with him during his hospital and hospice stay.

Cec was born in Moosomin, Sask on December 2, 1928.

He crossed the prairies with his family as a young boy and grew up in Vancouver B.C.

As a young man he graduated from Diesel School in Los Angeles, CA and later returned to the Northwest with his family.

Cec was very proud of becoming an American citizen.

He worked for Cummins Diesel for over 32 years, from Mechanic to Manager, affectionately nicknamed Cecil Diesel.

He was well known in Spokane as well as in the whole state of Washington in the trucking business.
In 1970 he married Sharlene and they merged their seven children to grow into a loving, close and wonderful family.
After retirement Cec and Shar traveled in their RV for ten years not only traveling the whole U.S. and Canada, but many countries around the world, meeting and making friends everywhere.

Especially fond times were the 20 years volunteering in the Canadian Rockies.

After cancer struck the first time in 1998, they settled down, just a little, by spending winters in Arizona and summers on their farm in Deer Park, WA.
Cec had a great sense of humor, always ready to help others, loved animals, loved his devoted family and loved Jesus.

He will be missed beyond measure.

He leaves his wife, Sharlene, children, Victor, Bonnie, Jeri Lynn, Patrick, Mike, Marci and Laurie, also 15 favorite grandchildren plus four great-grandchildren.
A memorial service shall be held later this spring at Zion Lutheran, Deer Park, WA.
