Died March 1, 2012, one day before his 85th birthday at Cheney Assisted Living in Cheney, WA.
Harlan Fred Haase was born March 2, 1927 in Bayard, Nebraska, to Edward and Louise (Pagels) Haase.
When Harlan was seven years old, his father moved the family to Spokane.
He enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1944.
He trained at Farragut Naval Training Center and was then sent to Manila in the Philippines where he worked in the fleet post office.
He was discharged in 1946.
On July 22, 1948, Harlan married Dorothea Wallner at Dishman, Washington.
They had nine daughters and five sons.
Harlan worked for Sneva’s uto Detailing for nearly 20 years before buying the Hideout Tavern.
He retired in 1989.
Harlan is survived by his wife: Dorothea, daughters: Chrisann Fay, Susan Haase, Sharon Brooks, Betty Haase, Echo Wilske, Jennifer Haase, Jerrilyn Horton, Judith Williamson and Kathleen Slayton and sons: Edward, Steven, Jonathan, Russell and Thomas Haase.
He is also survived by 22 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Preceding him in death was his granddaughter, Jennifer Fay; his sisters, Myrtice Blair, Hilma Schultz, Dorothy Schultz and Wilma Burroughs; and brothers, Lloyd and Willard Haase.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 6, at CHENEY FUNERAL CHAPEL, 1632 W. First St., Cheney WA .
