Accounting

• McDirmid Mikkelsen and Secrest P.S. has hired Amanda Kelly and Talia Mensik as Staff B accountants. Kelly holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration with a focus in accounting and finance from Corbin University and a master’s of accountancy in taxation from Gonzaga University. Mensik holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Eastern Washington University.

Kent Adams has formed Quicksilver Media Spokane with actor and director Jeff Mooring. Adams is a marketing and advertising executive and operates Kent Adams Consulting, LLC in Spokane.

Consulting

• Wipfli LLP has hired Gregg Calvert as a consulting manager for the company’s senior living consulting group. He has more than 17 years of related experience and previously served as director of finance for a regional medical center. He holds a bachelor’s degree in health service administration from Eastern Washington University and a master’s degree in public administration from the University of Idaho.

Education

Theresa Gee, of Post Falls, has been elected to Gonzaga University’s board of trustees for a four-year term. Gee is co-owner of George Gee Automotive Group and earned a bachelor’s degree in general studies from Gonzaga University in 2005.

• Gonzaga University has hired Adriane Leithauser as the alumni outreach specialist for the Graduate School of Business. She previously served as an adjunct professor. She holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in philosophy from Gonzaga.

Finance

Judy Rapp received an S.I.R. (“Skill, Integrity and Responsibility”) lifetime achievement award from the Inland Northwest Associated General Contractors during the organization’s annual President’s Gala in February. Rapp is vice president of Payne Financial Group in Spokane Valley.

Health care

• InCyte Pathology has hired Romeo Hernandez as client services supervisor for the company’s Spokane Valley lab. He previously worked for US Health Networks Medical Group in Southern California as a center manager. The company also hired Wendy Derain as an administrative assistant and Ashley MacArthur as an accessioner. Derain previously worked for Spokane Falls Community College and MacArthur previously worked for Advantage Physical Therapy.

Joseph Cram, D.D.S., has purchased Dr. Layne Hinckley’s dental practice at 12121 E. Broadway Ave., Building 4, in Spokane Valley. Cram previously owned a dental practice in Bellevue, Wash., for 20 years and graduated from the University of Washington School of Dentistry.

Hospitality

• Northern Quest Resort and Casino appointed Bryan Franz as executive chef. Franz previously served as executive chef at The Davenport Hotel and Tower and trained at the Culinary Institute of America.

Mining

• Forbes magazine listed Mitch Krebs No. 6 on its list of “America’s 20 most powerful CEOs 40 and under.” Krebs is CEO of Coeur d’Alene Mines Corp.

Miscellaneous

Andrew Gorton has been hired as executive director of resident services for Rockwood South Hill retirement community. He has more than 25 years of country club management experience and previously served as general manager of the Golf Club at Black Rock in Coeur d’Alene.

Nonprofit

• The Whitman County commissioners appointed Chuck Petras to the library board of trustees for a five-year term. Petras is a research engineer at Schweitzer Engineering in Pullman.

David Werme has been appointed chairman of SNAP’s board of directors. Werme is chief business development officer for Stonebraker McQuary insurance firm. Other board officers include: vice chair, P.J. Grabicki of Randall Danskin; and secretary/treasurer, John Hemmingson of Lakeside Capital Group LLC.

• The following individuals have been elected as new board members of Inland Northwest Land Trust: Lauren Allen of Northwest Farm Credit Services; Nancy Curry, retired Turnbull National Wildlife Refuge manager; and Brenda McCracken of Spokane Community College.

Lisa Brown has been hired as a mortgage loan consultant for Cherry Creek Mortgage in Post Falls. She has more than 19 years of experience in the mortgage lending industry and previously worked for Metlife Home Loans.
