BARNETT, Margaret Lois
93 Years of Life

A resident of the Denison area of Deer Park, Washington passed away on Wednesday, March 7, 2012.

Margaret is the dear mother and mother-in-law of Thomas and Carol Barnett and Susan and Kurt Nansel.

She enjoyed three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Dennis Barnett., parents Guy and Frances, sisters: Patricia and Kathryn, and her son William Barnett.

Born on November 17, 1918 at Port Orchard, Washington to Guy and Frances Underwood, her family moved to Okanogan, Washington when she was five.

Margaret attended all twelve years of school at Okanogan and graduated from Okanogan high School with Class of 1936.

While in her senior year, she was elected as Okanogan’s royal representative to the Apple Blossom Festival in Wenatchee.
She married Dennis Barnett on October 3, 1940 where they made their home in the Seattle area and then moved to Edmonds to raise their three children.

She enjoyed many camping, hiking and fishing trips with Denny and the kids throughout the Pacific Northwest.
In 1975, she and Dennis moved to Deer Park to enjoy their retirement years and country living.

Margaret was a wonderful homemaker and made delicious pies and homemade jam with fruit from the garden.

She also enjoyed her bridge club, sewing club and belonged to the Wild Rose Homemaker’s Club for many years.


Graveside Funeral Services honoring Mrs. Barnett will be at 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, March 13, 2012 at the Wild rose Prairie Cemetery south of Deer Park with Rev.
