Earl was born on June 20th, 1932 in Culver City, California.

Earl, or “Tommy” as he was called in childhood, graduated from Pasadena High School in 1950.

While a reservist with the U.S. Army in 1951 he attended Pasadena City College and received an A.A. degree in 1952.

Earl enlisted with the Navy full-time in 1952 where he had active sea duty, visiting many countries such as Japan, Okinawa, Hong Kong, the Philippines, and Taiwan.

After his honorable discharge he attended and graduated from California State Polytechnic College-Pomona with a B.S.

degree in 1961.

It was during this time that he met Nancy A. Redman and they married on September 1st, 1961.

Earl worked for many aeronautical and electrodynamic corporations but found his niche when he came on board with the United States Postal Service as an electrical-maintenance tech at the L.A.

Bulk Mail Center.

Earl retired in 1998 after 25 years of stellar service.

Earl is preceded in death by his loving parents Bernice E. and Harry W. Blaine and his devoted wife of 50 years, Nancy A. Blaine.

Earl is survived by his son Brian T. Blaine, daughter Debbie Blaine (Jeff Prevatte- fiancĂŠ), grandchildren Kirsten Smith, Elora Smith (Joe Bonner), Carl Smith, Kyle Sainsbury, and great-grandchild Anastasia Smith.

The family would like to acknowledge and give thanks to Horizon Hospice, and the staff at Country Homes Medical Center for all their assistance, care, and love that was shown to Earl during his final months.

Earl was loved and will be missed.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, March 20th from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home.
