LIBERTY LAKE – The Liberty Lake Ladies Nine Hole Golf Club will hold registration for the 2012 season at 9 a.m. Wednesday at the Liberty Lake golf course.
Golf will begin at 9 a.m. April 5. Sign-in is at 8:30.

Norwegian pianist to give concert
SPOKANE VALLEY – Knut Erik Jensen, a Norwegian musician, will play at the Steinway Gallery, 13418 E. Nora Ave., on Friday at 7 p.m.
Jensen holds a master’s degree in classical piano and also plays the accordion.
The concert is free.

Economic development committee members sought
SPOKANE VALLEY – The city of Spokane Valley is recruiting community members to serve on an ad hoc Economic Development Committee to help identify improvements to aid economic development in the city. Committee members will be required to meet multiple times, give periodic reports to the City Council and prepare a final report. The committee is expected to meet for four months.
The group will include two council members, two business representatives, two tourism representatives, a citizen-at-large and a youth member age 16-19. Members are not required to live in the Spokane Valley city limits, but should live or work in the city. Applications are available online at www.spokanevalley.org or at City Hall at 11707 E. Sprague Ave. The applications should be hand-delivered or mailed to City Hall by 5 p.m. April 13.
Mayor Tom Towey will review the applications and make recommendations for appointment to the committee. The full City Council must approve the mayor’s selections. For more information, call (509) 720-5300.
Greenacres students selling bread, cakes
Greenacres – Students from Greenacres Elementary School, 17915 E. Fourth Ave., will be pre-selling breads and tea cakes from Great Harvest Bakery to raise money to replace outdated classroom computers.
The bakery will donate 25 percent of the proceeds to the school from pre-sales of its honey whole wheat and cinnamon chip breads and pumpkin chocolate chip, cranberry orange and apple cinnamon tea cakes. The baked goods will be available for pickup at the school during the last week of March.
