Shalom Ministries – Volunteers are needed to support the cook in preparing breakfast Monday through Thursday for the needy in downtown Spokane. Breakfast is served from 7:30-8:30 a.m.; preparation begins between 5:30 and 6 a.m. Approximately 100-150 people come to eat daily. Call Rev. SNAP – Volunteers, ages 25-55 or older, with basic carpentry/maintenance skills are needed to help staff with upkeep and special projects, including building shelving, repairing office furniture, cleaning/maintaining outside grounds and upkeep of lawns/parking/buildings, as needed. Greater Spokane County/Valley Meals on Wheels – Volunteers are needed to deliver hot meals to elderly and disabled people. Volunteers will also need to check on the well-being of each person on their route. Volunteers may choose to drive a route any day, Monday through Friday, or drive as a substitute on flexible days. Meals will be picked up at 11 a.m. and delivered to approximately 15 people and delivery time is approximately 90 minutes. Volunteers are also needed to help prepare meals for elderly and disabled people. All skill levels are needed.
