Signed The Anaheim Ducks have signed coach Bruce Boudreau to a two-year contract extension through 2014-15. The Ducks went 27-23-8 after Boudreau replaced the fired Randy Carlyle on Nov. 30, compiling one of the NHL’s best records after the All-Star break. Two days before he took over in Anaheim, Boudreau was fired by the Washington Capitals.

• The Minnesota Wild have signed defenseman Clayton Stoner to a two-year, $2.1 million contract extension. Stoner had one goal and four assists in 51 games for the Wild last season.

Awarded Oklahoma City’s James Harden is the NBA’s Sixth Man of the Year after leading all bench players in scoring this season. Harden averaged 16.8 points on career-best 49 percent shooting this season, and he recorded his first career 40-point game last month in a win at Phoenix.

Dismissed Missouri State quarterback Trevor Wooden, who led the Missouri Valley Football Conference in total offense last season, has been dismissed from the team for violating unspecified team rules.

Chooses Driver Bryan Herta will try to win this year’s Indianapolis 500 with the same engine that took his team to Victory Lane last year. Two weeks after it was released from its contract with Lotus, Bryan Herta Autosport announced that it will use Honda engines for the rest of this season. The move comes two days before practice opens for the 500, which will be run on May 27.

Hired The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee has hired former Ohio State athletic director Andy Geiger. Geiger was the athletic director at Ohio State from 1994 to 2005.

Pleaded Two men charged with being a part of a large medical marijuana operation allegedly run by former Montana quarterback Jason Washington have pleaded guilty to federal drug charges. Chris Cronshaw and Greg Zuckert of Whitefish, Mont., each pleaded guilty to a single count of conspiracy to manufacture marijuana, the Missoulian newspaper reported. Washington, who played five games at Montana in 2005 before being injured, has pleaded not guilty. He was dismissed from the team in 2007 for unspecified reasons. His trial has been delayed until later this year.

Charged The younger brother of NFL players Vernon and Vontae Davis has been charged with murder in the death of a man visiting the nation’s capital from Colorado. D.C. police say 19-year-old Michael Davis was charged with first-degree murder while armed in the death of 66-year-old Gary Dederichs of Denver. Davis was previously arrested in connection with two assault cases and was being held in jail at the time of his arrest.
