Michael A. Rhea peacefully passed away May 14, 2012 at his home in Clayton, WA.
He was born on October 20,1948 to Alfred and Shirley (Nelson) Rhea in Oakland, California.
He was preceded in death by his father, Alfred Rhea in 1982.
Michael was raised in California and graduated from Encina High School, Sacramento, CA in 1967.
He went onto many, many adventures in his life.
He also worked with his father as a Journeyman Roofer for many years.
In 1985 Michael joined the Heat and Frost Insulators Local # 16 of Northern California and worked as an apprentice and then a Journeyman Insulator for 27 years until his retirement of July 1, 2010.
Michael loved his fishing, especially deep sea fishing, he was an avid gardener and loved his gardens and yards, He also was a gold prospector and loved to look for that elusive piece of gold!
He dearly loved his puppies and his older dog, Libbi Lu, Jaxson Jubilee and Gracie Rhea-Rhea.
They brought him many joys and happiness and a good laugh on occasion!
Michael is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Blanche, his mothers Shirley Mathison and Carol Yoka.
His sister, Barbara Andrews and brother-in-law Willard Andrews; sisters-in-law, Rae and Alan Whitman, Stephanie Park and brother-in-law, Brien McCracken.
Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Michael will be truly missed for his kindness and his warmth.
He touched many lives.
A celebration of Michael’s life will be held at the family home at Clayton, WA (509-276-1308) on June 2, 2012 at 11AM.
All are invited to attend.
Memorial contributions can be made in Michael’s name to the Spokane Humane Society.
Neptune Society was in charge of cremation.
