Central Lutheran Church Scandinavian Bazaar - The sale includes Scandinavian specialties such as lefse, meatballs and cookies. The day will include a Kaffe Stue, or coffee hour, from 9 to 11 a.m. Women in traditional Scandinavian dress will serve homemade desserts. The cost for five treats and coffee is $4. Proceeds benefit local charities including Central Christian Action, Central Clothes Closet, Good Samaritan Fund, Lutheran Community Services, Mid-City Concerns, Second Harvest Food Bank, Volunteers of America Crosswalk and Volunteers of America Hope House. Penny auction - Moran United Methodist Church annual penny auction is today at the Southside Senior Center, 3151 E. 27th Ave., at 11 a.m. Penny auction tickets are available for $2 for 200 tickets, $5 for 500 tickets and $10 for 1,000 tickets. Tickets can be used to bid on gift baskets and items donated by local businesses. A silent auction will include handcrafted items, tool sets, original art and more. Lunch will be available for $5. Winning numbers will be drawn at 1 p.m. You must be present to win. Proceeds will benefit mission outreach. (509) 448-7102.
