Fiddler delivers for Chiefs

KENT, Wash. – Todd Fiddler hit all the perfect notes on Saturday night.

Fiddler’s first career hat trick gave the Spokane Chiefs all of the offense they needed during a 3-1 Western Hockey League win over the Seattle Thunderbirds at ShoWare Center.

Fiddler leads the Chiefs with 15 goals.

On his first goal, early in the second period, Fiddler stole the puck inside the blue line and wristed in the score.

Fiddler one-handed his second goal, with 5 minutes and 28 seconds left in the game, after gathering in a rebound of Mike Aviani’s shot.

His final was an empty-netter with 28 seconds to go.

Chiefs goaltender Eric Williams stopped 34 of 35 Seattle shots and lost his shutout bid with 3:31 left.

Spokane (15-7-0-0) improved to 3-1 against Seattle and evened its road record at 5-5. The Chiefs trail first-place Portland by five points in the U.S. Division.
