Obituary: Randel, Ernest D.

Age 85

RANDEL, Ernest D. (Age 85) Ernie entered into the kingdom of God and into his wife’s warm embrace on November 16, 2012.

He was born on December 20, 1926 in Tresevant, TN and raised on a farm in McCook, NE.

His parents were John Walton and Alma Jay Randel.

He married the love of his life Roberta (McBride) on September 25, 1948, and went on to have four children.

He served proudly in the US Army during WWII and cherished his memory of being asked to guard the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.

He worked as a Budget Analyst for the Bureau of Reclamation for 37 years which took the family from Nebraska, to New Mexico, Idaho and finally to Washington state where he retired.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Walton and Alma, two brothers; Leo “Dick” and Donald, loving wife and soul mate Roberta M. (McBride), and five brothers-in-law.

He is survived by his children, son Steven Randel (Susan); daughters, Suzette Milner (Dennis), Sheila Olson (Edward), and Sharon Beauclair; 12 grandchildren, 21 great- grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; sister Charlotte Larsen; two brothers-in-law and six sisters-in-law, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at the Fellowship Church of God - 2102 E. Everett, Spokane, WA on Monday, November 26, 2012 at 2:00 PM.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be made in Ernest’s name to the American Cancer Society (www.cancer.org), the Nation Diabetes Fund (www.diabetes.org), or a charity of your choosing.
