WSU student still in critical condition after fall

A student who fell from a Washington State University fraternity early Sunday morning remains in critical condition, hospital officials said. Police say alcohol was a factor in the fall. Griffin E. Healey, 19, hit his head as he fell two stories from the balcony of the Lambda Chi Alpha house, 910 N.E. Colorado St., just after 1 a.m. Sunday. Medics transported him to Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane where he continues to receive treatment. Witnesses told police Healey was trying to sit on the second-floor railing when he fell backward and hit his head. A retaining wall and some rocks sit under the balcony, said Pullman police Cmdr. Chris Tennant.
