SERVINE , Ruth E.
1918-2012

Ruth Servine died October 6, 2012 at Providence St. Joseph Care Center, Spokane, WA.

Ruth was born February 27, 1918 to Robert and Ruth Kreitzinger in Yankton, SD.

She graduated from East High School in 1936.

She married Howard Servine on January 1, 1942 at First Lutheran Church in So.

Sioux City.

Howard died October 21, 1995.

She was employed by Iowa Public Service until her retirement in 1980.



Ruth was an active member of St. Luke’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, and a member of the Dorcas Circle and Women of the Church.

She was also an active member of Sioux City Women’s Club, Quota Club, Iota Delphian Study Club and Gamma Phi Gamma sorority.

Ruth volunteered for 20 years at St. Luke Regional Medical Center.

She moved to Spokane in 2000 following an illness.



She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Howard “Swede”; a son, Robert Charles; brothers, Chris, Mark, Jim; and a sister, Norberta.

Survivors include a son, Kib (Pattie) Servine; a daughter, Mary (Norm) Boehnke; six grandchildren; and five great grand children, all of Spokane.

A memorial service will be held, Friday Nov. 2 at St. Luke’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Sioux City, Iowa at 10:00 with graveside service to follow.
