Hands-on learning: Patrick McNally, principal bass with the Spokane Symphony, lets his bass sustain a long, low note, as local students feel the vibrations through the floor on Wednesday at the Fox Theater in Spokane. The Spokane Symphony was holding a free concert for two groups of roughly 1,600 fourth-graders. The annual event lets students hear and learn about classical music and the people and instruments used to create it.
