A resident of the Cornelius community, died Saturday morning, October 13, 2012 at Tuality Community Hospital in Hillsboro, Oregon.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held in June 2013 at the St. Anthony Sand Dunes in Rexburg, Idaho.

ALLEN LYNN HENZEN was born January 27, 1941 in Clinton, Iowa, the son of the late Lyle James and Elsie A.

(Kracht) Henzen.

He was raised and received his education in the Clinton community having attended Clinton High School.

Following high school, Allen enlisted in the United States Navy.

He served for four years and received his honorable discharge in 1964 at the rank of Radioman Second Class.



Allen was united in marriage to Beverly Williams on June 1, 1985 in Spokane, Washington.

Following their marriage they resided in the Spokane community until 2010 when they moved to Cornelius, Oregon and have resided there since.

Allen was employed at Thrifty Drug Store in Spokane as a retail manager and retired after 25 years.



He was a member of the Spokane Valley Antique Auto Club.

He was also a member of the Rose City Model T Club having owned a 1915 Ford Model T. Among his special interests, Allen enjoyed his model railroad, dune buggying, HAM radio, and wintering in Harlingen, Texas with his wife Beverly.

Allen was preceded in death by his parents, Lyle Henzen and Elsie Blount.

He is survived by his wife, Beverly Henzen, of Cornelius, Oregon; his two daughters, and sons in law, Michelle and Mathew Norton of Portland, Oregon, Rachelle and Kurt Schmid of Olympia, Washington; his three stepsons, Bryan Williams, Bradly Williams and Brett Williams, all of Wenatchee, Washington; his two brothers, and sisters in law, Gary and Angie Henzen of Long Beach, Mississippi, Harry and Diane Henzen of Clinton, Iowa; his three sisters and brother in law, Rae Jean Rathje of Decorah, Iowa, Patricia Funnell of Clinton, Iowa, Vonita and David Drager of Bowie, Texas.

Also surviving are seven grandchildren.

The family suggests that remembrances may be contributions to the Cornelius Boosters Scholarship Fund, PO Box 205, Cornelius, Oregon 97113, in his memory.

Tualatin Valley Funeral Alternatives-Hillsboro is in charge of the arrangements.
