Obituary: Grantham, Richard James
At the age of eight, he, his sister Gladys, and his parents James and Ruby Mae Grantham moved to farm near Bowmont, Idaho.
Dick attended Melba High School and joined the Navy at the age of seventeen.
He retired from the Navy as a Chief Warrant Officer after twenty-three years of service.
Dick also retired from a second career as a superintendent of transportation for the Boundary County School District.
He was a private pilot and flew three planes that he built.
He was a gifted carpenter and mechanic.
He enjoyed traveling, reading, hunting, fishing, building, and fixing.
He is survived by his blended family of eight children, Pamela, Deborah, Christine, Philip, Anna Marie, Mindy, Jodi, and Gia; his ten grandchildren; his eight great grandchildren; his wife Sharlene; and Valintina (married from 1957 to 1973).
His sense of humor and warm hugs will be missed by his family and many friends.
