Obituary: Edman, Robert Montgomery “Bob”

Age 87

EDMAN, Robert Montgomery “Bob” A lifetime resident of Chewelah, Washington, passed away on July 30, 2013 in Spokane, WA.

He was born on July 12, 1926 in Missoula, Montana the son of Roy and Mildred (Faille) Edman.

Bob was raised and attended school in the Chewelah area and graduated from Jenkins High School in 1944.

After graduation, he joined the United States Navy in 1944 and served his country until 1946.

After returning home, Bob attended the Spokane Trade School and became a Certified Auto Body & Fender repair technician.

For many years he was employed at Bittick Chevrolet as their auto body repair specialist and on call 24/7 tow truck driver.

Bob had a great love for cars and after retirement he would take any wrecked vehicle and transform it back into showroom condition.

He was introduced to the shooting range while in the Navy and developed a great appreciation for firearms.

With his many talents, Bob created beautiful jewelry, built high quality knives and took great pride in his wine making abilities with the grapes he harvested from his home grown vines.

Bob was preceded in death by his mother; sisters, Violet Marie Gibbs and Florence Culter; uncles, Austin Faille and Harry Faille.

He is survived by his niece, Carrie Solduvsky residing at his residence; long time neighbor and friend, Minnie Robinson; close friend Steven Zwartg and wife Linda of Spokane, WA; Robert J.

“Jack” Darnielle who has been a friend from school days and served with Bob in the Navy.

A memorial service for Mr. Edman will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 7, 2013 at the Danekas Funeral Chapel, Chewelah, WA.
