Obituary: Sieckmann, Lois L. (Rippe)

Age 83

SIECKMANN, Lois L. (Rippe) June 28, 1930 to August 3, 2013 Lois LaVone (Rippe) Sieckmann (Age 83) was born June 28, 1930 on a farm near Ohiowa, Nebraska to Henry E. and Louise A.

(Hintz) Rippe.

She graduated from Ohiowa High School in 1947.

Miss Rippe taught at the Harmony School, near Strang, Nebraska from 1947 to 1951.

Lois married Everett F. Sieckmann, also from Ohiowa, in 1951 in Tallahassee, Florida while he was studying at Florida State University.

In 1954, they welcomed their first child, Sharlene, who was born in Ithaca, New York.

In 1958, they welcomed their second daughter, Christine, who was born in Lexington, Kentucky.

In 1962, the family moved to Moscow, Idaho.

Lois enrolled in the University of Idaho and earned a BS degree (Education) in 1967.

She continued her education and completed a Master of Education in 1973 from the University of Idaho.

She taught English for over 29 years at Moscow Junior High School.

Lois had a green thumb and raised many beautiful houseplants.

She was also very artistic.

Another hobby of hers was playing bridge.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Everett.

She is survived by her two daughters, Sharlene Miller (Melvin) of St. Joseph, MO and Christine Ambrose (Allen) of Spokane, WA; her grandchildren, Stephanie Knight (Austin) of Salt lake City, UT and Christopher Ambrose of Spokane, WA; and her sister, Loretta Schleif (Dorral) of Hebron, NE.

There will be a funeral service Saturday, August 10, 2013 2:00pm at Farmer and Son Funeral Home, Geneva, NE.

Interment at Ohiowa, NE Public Cemetery.

The family will receive family and friends Saturday, 1:00pm at Farmer and Son Funeral Home.
