Fundraiser honors CV’s Jansen Badinger

The Central Valley High School graduating classes of 1976 through 1980 will host Buy Your Way Home, a softball game, Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at CV, 821 S. Sullivan Road.

The game will give fans and players a chance to pledge money to advance players around the bases, score runs or buy an out.

All funds raised will go to Jansen’s Door, a foundation intended to provide short-term financial assistance to CV students who are in need and might not otherwise be able to participate in an activity, event or have supplies for school.

The foundation has been set up to honor recent CV grad Jansen Badinger who drowned July 23 in the Spokane River. The foundation was named Jansen’s Door, after Badinger’s practice of greeting students and staff at the front door of the school every morning.
