Obituary: Hammack, Michael Sam

Age 58

HAMMACK, Michael Sam April 2, 1955 - November 29, 2013 Was born April 2, 1955, in Seattle, Washington, to Sam and Ruth Hammack.

He passed away on November 29, 2013.

Mike graduated from Queen Anne High School.

He entered the Navy in 1973.

He served as a diesel engineer, E-3.

After the Navy, Mike attended South Seattle Community College in diesel mechanics.

In 1987, Mike and his parents moved to Cheney, Washington.

Mike was preceded in death by his father, Sam Hammack.

He is survived by his mother, Ruth Hammack; his siblings Patti McKee, Vickie (and Don) Kennedy, Terri (and Luis) Flores, Judy Culp, and Larry (and Sheri) Hammack; nieces and nephews (Matthew and Danelle Kennedy, Mike Culp, Timothy and Ginger Kennedy, Windy Flores, Chris and Doreen Culp, Dwight Hammack, Jamie Hammack), and great nieces and nephews (Ryan, Lillian, Aiden, Ethan, Teagan, Marie, Kaley, Mike).

Mike loved the outdoors, working on engines, and time with family and friends.

He was known for his humor and his “thumbs up” when he was happy.

We will miss him.

A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 7, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Cheney followed by burial with military honors at Spokane Memorial Gardens.
