Obituary: Lillygren, Gordon “Gordie”

Age 87

LILLYGREN, Gordon “Gordie” March 11, 1926 - December 4, 2013 Gordon (Gordie) Lillygren passed peacefully from this world to be with the Lord.

He was surrounded by his loving wife of 65 years, Patricia, and his four children.

Gordon was born on March 11, 1926, in St. Paul, MN.

He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings, and baby son Steven.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia, daughters Kathryn (Michael) Scaletta, Rosemary Finley, and Teresa Lillygren; son James Lillygren; three grandchildren Eileen, Michael, and Kathleen; three great-grandchildren Sophia, Jacob, and Joshua.

Gordon was truly one of a kind.

He joined the Navy at 17.

After owning his own marine diesel business, he went to work for Coeur d’Alene GTE and then retired after 15 years.

His sly humor was always evident; he had perfect comic timing.

Gordie was an “old school” gentleman who could build or repair anything.

His work always showed the utmost perfection…if it wasn’t right, he made it so.

Dad, you are now free to ride Harleys and wild horses in the wind.

You will live in our hearts forever.

Per family wishes, graveside memorial service will be private.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Hospice House of North Idaho.
