Courthouse open again after suspicous package report
The contents of a package delivered to the Thomas S. Foley Courthouse prompting a multi-agency response Thursday afternoon did not pose a threat to the public, the FBI said in a news release.
Employees at the courthouse reported the package around 11 a.m. Thursday, according to the news release. Multiple agencies, including the Spokane Police Department’s Explosive Disposal Unit, responded to the scene. Portions of West Main Avenue were closed for several hours later Thursday.
At 2:30 p.m., authorities ruled the package was not a threat and cleared the courthouse for re-entry.
The FBI provided no further details on the content of the package.
