Lucke for airport board

As president of EAA Chapter 79 at Felts Field airport, I have witnessed firsthand the prior mismanagement of the Spokane airports. Vacant board seats were eventually filled with qualified people.

Replacement Chief Executive Officer Larry Krauter has done a superb job of managing our airports. We have seen significant improvements in operations and facilities at both airports. With vacancies opening up on the airport board, it is critical that good, qualified people are selected. Experience has shown that pilots with business and construction experience are the most effective.

One of our EAA members, David Lucke, has entered his application for a board seat. While I cannot speak for the EAA membership or other groups regarding this issue, I and many others in our airport community feel that Lucke would be an excellent choice. His experience as a professional engineer in the construction industry, his tenure as state president of the Washington Pilots Association and his extensive piloting experience make him a good choice.

I have sat in planning meetings with both Krauter and Lucke and can say that both work well in the think tank environment by putting forth and sharing ideas to advance our facilities.
