Medical examiner identifies man found dead in Spokane River

The medical examiner’s office identified the man found in the Spokane River on Tuesday as Laurence S. Roebke. A man found 22-year-old Roebke’s body floating in the river Tuesday near North Farr Road and East Maringo Drive in Spokane Valley. Dive teams and Spokane County sheriff’s deputies were unable to immediately determine how long he’d been in the water. The medical examiner’s office has not yet been able to determine a cause of death, but could find no significant external or internal injuries on Roebke’s body.
