Ballot preparation

A story on page A5 of Tuesday’s edition incorrectly described the process of preparing ballots due to a reporter’s error. The Elections Division of the Spokane County Auditor’s Office, the only agency to handle ballots, uses data from other county departments to determine which ballot a voter is mailed.

Last name incorrect

Doug Johnson was pictured in a photo about restoring vintage trailers. His last name was incorrect in a caption on page A5 Tuesday.

First name incorrect

A story about Amtrak’s Empire Builder on Tuesday’s business page gave the wrong first name of the president of the National Association of Railroad Passengers, due to a McClatchy-Tribune error. His name is Ross Capon.
