Gen and Richard’s marriage ended in divorce.

Gen met Richard “Dick” Morris at K.I.

In 2005, Gen and Dick decided to take a long road trip leaving Veradale in their pickup camper.

They headed for the Washington State coast where they met up with a good friend and went salmon and crab fishing and caught crab, crab and more crab.

When they left the coast, they drove up to Seattle and then through Canada, enjoying crab dinners and crab salads along the way.

They finally drove up to Anchorage, AK, via the Alcan Highway, to visit Michelle and her family.

While there, they built a deck for Michelle, and also met a longtime friend from the U.P.

After leaving Anchorage, they drove down through Edmonton, Winnipeg, Montana and South Dakota visiting family along the way.

Their trip took them back to the U.P.

to visit with more relatives and friends.

Once leaving the U.P.

they were onto Branson, MO, Little Rock, AR, Plano, TX (Dallas area) to visit Kyle and his family.

From there, they drove to Albuquerque, NM, Las Vegas and Lovelock, NV to visit Steve, Mark and their families.

After three months and 12,000 miles later, they arrived back home in Veradale.

Gen called it their LAST HURRAH!!!

It was a Great Trip.

Gen loved to go to the casinos, sit at the bar and play Draw Poker and have a Busch Lite or two.

Gen loved to cook.

In her younger years, she used to cater for the Officers’ parties at K.I.

Sawyer AFB.

Gen was a great wife and mother.

She will be missed by many.

Gen is survived by her loving husband, Dick, of 37 years and their 10 children, 28 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren; sisters, Marcella (Jim) Casey, and Phyllis (John) King who are all from the Escanaba area; plus a host of nieces and nephews, her sister-in-law Gladys Morris of Baker, MT, and many friends.

All of Gen and Dick’s children, except for Kyle, were able to come home and keep a constant bedside vigil during Gen’s last hours.

We want to extend a very special thanks to Hazen and Jaeger Valley Funeral Home for handling Gen’s arrangements and cremation.

We also want to extend a very, very special thank you to the Doctors, Nurses and Staff on the second and third floors at the Spokane Valley General Hospital.
