Obituary: Burnett, Ruth Bessie

Age 87

BURNETT, Ruth Bessie Our beloved mother, Ruth went home to her Lord and Savior and was reunited with her husband and many other loved ones on January 27, 2013.

Ruth was a devoted Christian woman and an amazing mom.

Ruth loved music and nearly always sat down to play a tune on the piano before heading out the door.

Ruth also enjoyed travelling, camping and fishing but most of all she enjoyed sharing time with her family and friends.

The family would like to thank the staff of the Dayspring Unit at Good Samaritan for the excellent and loving care she received.

It means so much to us to know how much you cared for her.

Ruth was born August 24, 1925 in Red Lodge, Montana.

She was the youngest of eight children born to Ben and Bessie Panther.

The family moved to Spokane when Ruth was a young girl.

She was a graduate of West Valley High School.

Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon Wayne Burnett in 2004, as well as her parents; brothers Glen, Sheridan, Louis and Don.

Ruth is survived by her seven sons, John W. (Peggy), Richard, David (Aiko), Loren (Dana), Dean (Carrie), Gary.

and John S. (Babette); daughters, Nancy and Barbara; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; brothers John “Pete” Panther, Oscar (Norma) Panther, sister, Marguerite Asbury Cook, sister-in-law Mona Panther and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at Ball & Dodd Funeral Home, Thursday, February 7th, noon to 8pm.

Graveside Services will be 2 pm Friday February 8th at Pleasant Prairie Cemetery.

A Memorial Service in celebration of Ruth’s life will be 2 pm Saturday February 9th at East Valley Baptist Church, 14516 E. Wellesley Ave., Spokane Valley, WA.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to The Union Gospel Mission or the Parkinsons Disease Foundation.
