Obituary: O’Connor, Dr. Barry James
Barry was born in Spokane in 1949 to Tex and Grace.
Barry was baptized and remained a Devout Catholic all his life.
He attended St. Pat’s and St. Paschal Elementary, East Valley High, EWU, and Notre Dame.
He served two years in the Peace Corps in Morocco.
Upon returning to the States he resided in Washington D.C. where he accepted a position as a Grant Administrator for the Institute Of Peace.
Later he settled and lived in Herndon, VA, where he continued his career.
Barry had a great sense of humor.
He was very liked by everyone lucky enough to have known him.
Barry is survived by sisters, Beverly Butler, and Vicki Hurt, numerous nephews and nieces, his Godchildren, and friends.
Visitation will be held Fri. Jan. 25th 5:30pm-7:00pm with The Rosary to be held at 6:00pm at St. Paschal Catholic Church 2523 N. Park Rd.
Spokane, WA.
Funeral Mass will be Saturday Jan. 26th, 11:00am at St. Paschal Catholic Church, with Graveside Services to be held at Holy Cross Cemetery following Mass at 12:30pm, 7200 N. Wall Spokane, WA., Father Floch will be officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Barry’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association Inland Northwest Chapter, 910 W. 5th Ave., Suite 256, Spokane, WA 99204.
Barry was a wonderful brother.
