Police investigate mobile home fire as a homicide

From staff reports
Spokane police are investigating Monday morning’s mobile home fire as a homicide. Firefighters responded to reports of a fully engulfed mobile home shortly after midnight at the Cascade Mobile Home Park at 2311 W. 16th Ave. Firefighters controlled the blaze and found two bodies inside. The victims have not been identified. However, it doesn’t appear that the fire caused the death, police spokeswoman Monique Cotton said. A gun was recovered from inside the residence that may have been involved, Cotton said. The Spokane County Medical Examiner has not released the official cause of death for the couple. Neighbors said the couple was slated to be married Thursday.
