Chris Sneider has opened Sneider Engineering, LLC. This geotechnical engineering business will serve public- and private-sector clients in Washington, Idaho and Montana.

Brent Huckabee, a financial adviser with Edward Jones, has received the TNT Client Development Award.

Government

The city of Spokane has hired Kyle Twohig as engineering operations manager and Mike Werner as asset management director. Twohig has a background in development construction, multi-development project-based construction, construction management, planning and development, and municipal projects. He was previously with the Inland Group. Werner has experience in venture capital, financial technology, commercial real estate, sales and management, building business profitability and potential, and team leadership and training. Previously, he was managing director at Infrastructure Fundamentals LLC.

Health care

Kootenai Health was named a Top 100 Hospital for the ninth year in a row in a survey conducted by the Ohio-based group, Cleverly + Associates. More than 3,000 hospitals nationwide were evaluated based on financial viability, cost structures, patient charge structures, and quality of performance. Kootenai Health ranked in the top 20 percent of the surveyed hospitals.

Hospitality

The American Hotel and Lodging Association has named Denise Vickerman as the 2013 Outstanding Hotel General Manager at the Association’s Annual Stars of the Industry Awards in Denver. Vickerman is general manager of the Ramada at Spokane Airport.

Marketing

Schweitzer Mountain Resort has promoted Sean Mirus from marketing manager to marketing director and Sean Briggs from marketing coordinator to marketing manager. Mirus is a former competitive ski racer who joined Schweitzer in 2006 as the rental shop and trails supervisor. Briggs was a marketing intern for Schweitzer in 2009.

Clark’s Tire and Automotive, an automotive repair facility, has opened a second location at 17204 E. Sprague Ave.

The Spokane Valley Target has been nominated for the Freedom Award, given by Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve, a Department of Defense organization.

Nonprofit

The American Childhood Cancer Organization Inland Northwest has presented the first Golden Heart Award to Eric Miller, an RN at Sacred Heart Children’s Hospital. The award was created to recognize individuals who have provided outstanding care and service to children affected by cancer. The award is voted on by patients and their families.

Real estate

Gina McKenzie, a managing real estate broker, has joined Soleil Real Estate. Previously, McKenzie was with Windermere Real Estate.

Retail

Jacob Wilson, Krystal Siegfried and Jack DeWenter have joined Etailz. Wilson is a buyer; Siegfried is the human resources manager; and DeWenter is a dropship specialist.
