Obituary: Taylor, Betty Jean (Murdock)
She was born April 16, 1925 to George and Pearl Jansen in Spokane and is survived by her sons; Stephen J. Murdock and wife Kathleen of Spokane, WA.
and son; Grady S. Murdock and wife Janette of Soldotna, AK.
Sisters-in-law; Barbara Jansen of Bellingham, WA.
and Doris Jansen of Pasco, WA.
Four grandsons, three granddaughters, 12 great-grandchildren, two nieces and one nephew.
She is preceded in death by her first husband Clyde Murdock (a father and grandfather), by her second husband Gordon Taylor, son; Cpl Michael G. Murdock, parents; George and Pearl Jansen and brothers; S.G. “Shirk” Jansen and Robert Jansen.
Betty worked for the U.S.
Postal Service for many years, being postmaster in Rockford, WA and Newman Lake, WA.
She was a member of the Gold Star Mothers, PEO, NARFE and AARP.
Betty was selected as the League of Postmasters of the Year, State of Washington.
She was also a member of the Spokane Valley United Methodist Church, and was a volunteer at the Valley Hospital and Medical Center.

A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 6, at the Fairview Cemetery in Rockford followed by a memorial service 11:00 at the Rockford United Methodist Church.
